Scientific Application Of Magnesium Sulfate in Pig Production! More Commonly Used in Summer!
Magnesium sulfate has a wide range of uses, it can be used as leather, explosives, paper, porcelain, fertilizer, and oral laxatives in medical treatment. Magnesium sulfate can be used as a magnesium supplement in feed processing in livestock and poultry feed. Because magnesium is an indispensable factor in the process of bone formation and muscle contraction in livestock and poultry, it is an activator of various enzymes in livestock and poultry, and plays an extremely important role in material metabolism and nerve function in livestock and poultry. If the body of livestock and poultry is deficient in magnesium, it will lead to disorder of material metabolism and nerve function, supply imbalance, affect the growth and development of livestock and poultry, and even lead to death.
Our swine veterinarians will introduce the application of magnesium sulfate in pig production for your reference.
In pig production, the most widely used is the prevention and treatment of constipation in pigs. There is experimental data showing that when 400PPM (400 grams per ton of feed) magnesium sulfate is added to the diet of fattening pigs with constipation, constipation can be effectively prevented and controlled. Of course, whether to add magnesium sulfate to the feed (pregnant sows should be used with caution) should be determined according to the actual situation of the pig farm. In areas with severe constipation, adding a certain amount of magnesium sulfate to the diet is a better solution to constipation. And it's cheap and easy to do.
In addition, magnesium sulfate has three common small magical uses:
1. Treatment of various inflammatory and non-inflammatory swellings. The 5% magnesium sulfate solution was heated to 70°C. Then use a towel dipped in hot solution to apply heat to the swollen area. Apply heat for 1.5 to 2 hours each time, twice a day for 2 consecutive days.
2, the treatment of salt poisoning. If it is diagnosed as salt poisoning, 10-20 ml of 25% magnesium sulfate and 10-20 ml of vitamin C can be administered to the sick pigs by intramuscular injection, 3 times a day, for 2-3 days.
3. Symptomatic treatment of tetanus in pigs. Intramuscular injection or intravenous injection of 25% magnesium sulfate solution at 1.8-2 ml per kilogram of body weight is effective for symptomatic treatment of tetanus in pigs (with cephalosporin and tetanus antitoxin).
Pig Bingtong reminds: solid magnesium sulfate is colorless fine needle crystal or rhombus granular crystal, salty and bitter (so called sulfur bitter), more easily soluble in water, easy to return to moisture, so it is best to keep it tightly closed.
