Industrial Uses And Functions Of Seven Magnesium Sulfates
1. In the electroplating industry, magnesium sulfate is used as a conductive salt: adding magnesium sulfate heptahydrate to the nickel plating solution can make the plating solution have better conductivity, making the coating white and soft; it can also be used as a refining agent. Aluminium additive to colour the aluminium surface.
2. In the environmental protection industry, magnesium sulfate heptahydrate is used directly as a sewage treatment agent or as a raw material of a sewage treatment agent for industrial sewage treatment, and has the effect of coagulation and sedimentation on the waste liquid sewage to make it meet the sewage standard.
3. In the building materials industry, magnesium sulfate heptahydrate is dissolved in water and reacted with heavy light calcined powder (magnesium oxide) to form magnesium oxysulfide cement. This cement has good thermal insulation, fire resistance, durability and environmental protection. It is used in the production of fireproof boards, external wall insulation boards, door core boards, etc.
4. In fireproof materials, magnesium sulfate heptahydrate is used as a flame retardant for plastics such as acrylate resins, epoxy resins, unsaturated polyesters and polyurethanes to enhance the heat resistance of fireproof materials.
5. During the drying and sintering process of magnesia refractories, magnesium sulfate heptahydrate is used to stabilize the green body.
6. In the construction industry, magnesium sulfate heptahydrate is used as a coagulant for cement.
7. In the industrial production of polymer materials such as ABS and EPS, magnesium sulfate monohydrate is used as a polymer emulsion coagulant. 8. In the industrial production of man-made fibers, magnesium sulfate heptahydrate is a component of the spinning bath and an important auxiliary material for viscose fibers and vinylon fibers.
