Do you know how to cure magnesium sulfate poisoning?

As a commonly used drug, magnesium sulfate should be used with attention to its dosage. The dosage of magnesium sulfate varies depending on the body weight of each person. If you do not pay attention to the dosage, it is easy to cause poisoning, cause physical discomfort, and even lead to coma in severe cases. How to rescue magnesium poisoning?

1. Immediately stop ingesting magnesium sulfate. Those who are poisoned by mistake should wash their stomach immediately, and take milk or egg white orally to protect the mucous membrane of the digestive tract.

2. People who are dehydrated after catharsis can take sugar saline orally. Generally, add 20g of glucose or 40g of sucrose to 1000m1 of saline to help small intestinal mucosal epithelial cells absorb Na+ and CI-. In emergencies, intravenous fluids should be used. Pay attention to the potassium supplement.

3. Treatment of hypermagnesemia: immediate intravenous injection of 10% calcium gluconate or 10% calcium chloride 10-20 ml. C2+ is chemically similar to Mg2+ and can compete for the same binding site on cells. Increasing the concentration of Ca2+ in the blood can repel the binding of Mg2+ to the binding site. Moreover, Ca2+ can promote the release of acetylcholine from motor nerve endings and antagonize the effect of Mg2+. The symptoms of hypermagnesemia were relieved about 30 seconds after the injection of calcium, but it was short-lived. If there is no effect after 2 minutes of injection, the injection can be repeated.
